Visualising London using Cellular Automata and Processing

As part of the visualisation course in my MRes degree, me and my team had to do a visualisation on Cellular Automata. For this weekly visualisation project we used Processing and its image recognition capabilities and here is the result.

The image we inserted was a part of Thames and alose we defined a centre, where the sprawl began from. We, also, added a factor of attractiveness on the river. Coming to the visualisation part, the heights of the boxes come from the density of the urban pixels that are neighbours to each other. The camera used is in perspective mode and also some lights were added. Enjoy!!
